About Me

Imagen
Hello, my name is Yuleisi Serrano and I am studying a degree in Foreign Languages at the National Open and Distance University (UNAD). I am passionate about English and I believe that education is a powerful tool to inspire and transform lives. As a future teacher, I focus on creating dynamic and meaningful learning experiences for my students. I use playful and creative strategies to help them understand and enjoy the learning process. My goal is for students to not only learn the language, but also to develop a real interest and love for it. I am committed to my personal and professional growth, and I enjoy exploring new teaching methods and using creativity to make English learning engaging and relevant to my students' lives.

My Personal Improvement Plan

My personal improvement plan focuses on improving my fluency in spoken English. To achieve this, I commit to building more vocabulary and practicing pronunciation more actively. I will participate in weekly 'speaking encounters' and practice with a language exchange partner to improve my speaking and pronunciation. I will also dedicate 30 minutes a day, 3 times a week, to oral practice and vocabulary acquisition. My goal is to reduce hesitation in conversation and speak more naturally and fluently.

My Teaching Philosophy

As a future English teacher, my identity is built upon the pillars of patience, motivation, and constant positive energy in the classroom. My main strength is the ability to motivate students, creating a welcoming and willing learning environment. My teaching philosophy is that language learning is not just about memorizing grammar rules and vocabulary lists, but about developing a holistic understanding of the language through authentic materials and real-world communication. By creating a dynamic and interactive classroom, I strive to make the learning process both enjoyable and effective, encouraging students to actively participate and take ownership of their learning journey. My goal is clear: for my students to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the language, developing solid listening and speaking skills, along with the ability to write and understand the language effectively, becoming confident communicators

The Recorded Meeting

In this web conference, we presented three English teachers and explored their teaching methodologies. We focused on the importance of interaction, the use of technology, the creation of positive learning environments, and motivations. We analyzed the role of the teacher in English language teaching and highlighted the difficulties and opportunities that arise in the learning process. Descriptive essay

The Ideal English Teacher  The idea of the ideal English teacher is something that I have reflected on through my own learning experiences. For me, a great teacher is not only someone who knows the language well, but someone who guides, inspires, and connects with students in a meaningful way. In this essay, I will describe the qualities that I consider essential in an English teacher and explain why they have a strong impact on the learning process. I believe that teaching English goes beyond explaining grammar; it involves creating an environment where I feel motivated, supported, and confident to use the language in real situations. I think the ideal English teacher needs strong communication skills, because a teacher who explains concepts clearly, listens patiently, and speaks with empathy helps me understand better and feel safe participating in class. Another important quality is effective classroom management, since a well-organized and respectful environment makes lea...
